Seafood Lovers’ Paradise – The Best Oyster Bars in New Orleans

New Orleans is a dream destination for seafood lovers, and if you’re a fan of fresh, plump oysters, you’re in for a treat. Whether you like them raw, chargrilled, or baked with decadent toppings, the city is packed with incredible spots to indulge in these briny delights. During my last visit, I made it my mission to find the best oyster bars in New Orleans, and these three stood out as absolute must-visits.

1. Acme Oyster House – The Classic Choice

A true New Orleans institution, Acme Oyster House is the go-to spot for those craving classic Gulf oysters. Located in the heart of the French Quarter, this place always has a line out the door—but trust me, it’s worth the wait. Their chargrilled oysters, smothered in garlic butter and Parmesan, are simply legendary. Pair them with a cold beer, and you’ve got the perfect NOLA experience.

📍 Location: 724 Iberville St, New Orleans

2. Felix’s Restaurant & Oyster Bar – A Local Favorite

Right across the street from Acme, Felix’s offers a more laid-back atmosphere but equally incredible oysters. Their raw oysters are some of the freshest in town, and their signature Oysters Rockefeller (baked with spinach and cheese) are rich and flavorful. If you want a classic, no-fuss oyster experience, this is the place to go.

📍 Location: 739 Iberville St, New Orleans

3. Drago’s Seafood Restaurant – Home of the Best Chargrilled Oysters

If you only try one plate of oysters in New Orleans, make it the chargrilled oysters at Drago’s. Butter-soaked, smoky, and topped with a golden crust of cheese, they’re pure indulgence. It’s no surprise that Drago’s is often credited with inventing chargrilled oysters—and after tasting them, I believe it.

📍 Location: 2 Poydras St, New Orleans

If you love seafood, you can’t visit New Orleans without indulging in oysters at these incredible spots. Have a favorite oyster bar in NOLA? Let me know—I’m always ready for another seafood adventure!
